Vision Screenings

Alabama Lions Sight and Lions Club volunteers conduct vision screenings in communities and schools throughout Alabama.

Alabama Lions Clubs and Alabama Lions Sight are partners with Lions Clubs International in supporting the “Lions KidSight USA” Community Eye Screening Program for Children. Eye screenings for children as young as six months old are vital to make sure the children can “see to learn” in their most formative early years. Each year, Alabama Lions Sight partners with Lions Clubs throughout Alabama to screen thousands of school-age children and help provide follow-up eye exams and glasses at no charge for those that qualify.

Alabama citizens over the age of 60 are the fastest growing segment of our population. As we grow older, the chances of developing vision problems increases. Alabama Lions Sight is especially interested in reaching Alabama’s adult population to test for visual acuity, and identify those at risk for glaucoma and other age-related vision problems. When vision problems are detected during our Adult Screening Programs qualified adults are referred to Alabama Lions Sight for follow-up care and financial assistance.
